Who We Are

Freeport Health Network Mission

The Freeport Health Network together with those we serve, improves health and provides superior, quality health care services. Respect, dignity and compassion guide our interactions, while leadership and wise stewardship of resources direct the process.

The Freeport Health Network, a not-for-profit organization with 1300 employees, provides health care services for approximately 90,000 people in a four-county area in the northwest corner of Illinois. Organized in 1994 as an integrated health care delivery system, the Network is comprised of Freeport Memorial Hospital, Freeport Clinic, the Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center, Home Health Care and Hospice, Healthworks occupational health services, Jane Addams outpatient mental health services and individual physician offices.

In cooperation with the Northwest Illinois Physicians Association, the Network also owns the Freeport Regional Health Plan, a community-based Preferred Provider Organization, with 18,000 members. The Health Plan serves the health care needs of over 100 area employers.

Freeport Memorial Hospital, a 183-bed facility, underwent a major expansion and renovation in 1993-94. The hospital offers 24-hour emergency medical care, a poison control center, sophisticated echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, full-body CT scanning, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, laser surgery, lithotripsy, intensive coronary care and cardiac rehabilitation. Physical, occupational, respiratory and speech therapy services are also provided. There are 76 physicians on the hospital’s medical staff.

The hospital also operates a Sleep Center, Pain Clinic and Continence Clinic as well as a Family Birthing Center featuring Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum rooms for each patient. The hospital and the Ferguson Cancer Center are affiliated with the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Clinics and School of Medicine.
